Re: Ubuntu.... mediamonkey.... meant to be..?

How's about a Linux backend with a web interface frontend? Maybe have a daemon run on a Linux machine (possibly a headless server), and control all functionality via a browser, regardless of operating system? With tiny distributions like xpud, for instance, it's just a matter of time before mostly ...

Sorry, my mistake. Please note that anything I write about Apple products might be wrong - I do not own any Apple product myself, nor use Safari or iTunes on Windows.

Re: 'level playback volume' flattens equalizer curve?

From your setup, it looks like you have Create SoundBlaster hardware? Did you try your laptop output first for a comparison? I fear your drivers might try to level up the music (I think there is an option for that), plus it has other nasty things that distort the music, like the crystalizer (marketi...

Re: MM and Apple TV

MediaMonkey 3 cannot serve files to any iTunes client per se (like Apple TV). From my days back when Roku Soundbridge was in development, any new iTunes version broke the network connection. daapd (fireflymediaserver) has not been continued for a long time, I am afraid. Re: mediamonkey, minilyrics, karaoke

Hi James, I know this is late, but you need to do the following: Open the volume mixer Add the microphone into the playback devices Unmute it Tada! No extra software needed. It usually is annoying to hear yourself when you speak to the computer (eg Skype), so this microphone playback is usually muted.

Re: MM as a Media Server for PS3

There is a plugin for PS3 media server for MM which might get your half way there - tried it the other day and it shares the library nicely, not sure that it passes any play info back to MM though. I suppose the mentioned plugin is this one: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=...

Re: MM Plugin for PS3MediaServer (PS3 and more!)

Thanks for the reply. Rather than "remote control" of a server, could it not just see the server as an audio device and just "push" content to it for playback? The UPNP A/V / DLNA way works like this: Server is announced in the local network Client connects, user browses the &qu...

Re: MM Plugin for PS3MediaServer

You are right that PS3MediaServer (PMS) is not only for PS3. I use that in order to stream to my Roku Soundbridge and Xbox360 (although I am not convinced this works great for audio). From what I know, it also works with selected Sony Bravias, Philips Aureas, and other connected TVs. PMS partly impl...

Re: MM Plugin for PS3MediaServer

Which version are you using? You need at least 1.20.398. Links have been updated some days ago in the website.

Re: Ubuntu.... mediamonkey.... meant to be..?

What's a few million more potential customers anyway? It's just a few 10's of millions of dollars. Conservative estimates I know, but I don't want to overestimate. I do not want to sound rude, but MediaMonkey might be not as popular as you think. If you go to a place like CNet, you have this rankin...

Re: MM Plugin for PS3MediaServer

Having trouble with this on Vista. Can you tell me the path to copy the files into? Thanks Hi, yeboah, the steps are: Install PMS (PS3MediaServer) Download the two jar files needed (plugin AND sqlite*) Move those two jar files into PMS\plugins The usual installation directory would be (typing this ...

Re: MM for Mac - I just switched to Apple

:( I wanted to say that currently I'm installing Windows 7 on a friends MACBook (Using BootCamp 3.1) just because of MM. The Mac phenomena is getting everywhere, isn't it? But like with Windows, I do not plan to spend any money if I do not need to change the computer. Peke, I read in some blog that...

Hello botijo, i would like to try your PS3MediaServer .... but the File is deleted on http://www.mediafire.com/file/mgynzmziqng/pms-setup-windows-1.20.exe . Please could you fix it? Sorry about that. The patch was merged into the main PS3MediaServer, so the latest beta build (400 at the moment of w...

Re: UPNP server for MediaMonkey (v0.2)

I tried to install the UPNP MM Server on a Win7/64 Bit System. The Server is running and I can see it on my WDTV Live Mediaplayer. But it seems, there is no connection to my MediaMonkey .... When you say, there is no connection to my MediaMonkey, what do you mean? Anyhow, did you try PS3MediaServer...
