MM 2.3.1 works fine here, but I work with MP3, not with WMA files. OK, thanks, I see the WMA issue raised by Jack was resolved as being due to filename coding. So I'll go ahead more confidently and install it. What inconsistencies are you talking about? MM Gold is the same MM with a couple more fea...

Thanks. I saw another recent post here to the effect that 2.3.1 didn't handle WMA without further action, and that was another reason for hesitation. Have you installed it yet? Anyone able to confirm no major problems please? Did you have any comments about those appparent inconsistencies I mentione...

Thank you. No big problem - happy now I know it's standard behaviour.

Links don't open in Firefox

I'm mildly irritated by the fact that links from MM end up opening MSIE6 instead of my default browser, Firefox. When I use Get Track Details, an Album Browser window opens, based on Amazon. It has no title bar and is floating, and I'm not clear whether it uses a browser at all. (At that stage, XP T...

Which version?

I'm a bit confused as to what version of MM I have, and which one I should download. Help>About says 2.2.2.781, and shows my user name, and so I assume that is the standard version. But on the download page http://www.mediamonkey.com/download.htm I see that the Gold vesrion is distinguished by havin...

Thanks - that <Track#:2> - <Title> - <Artist> works a treat! I hadn't thought of using both facilities in that way. (Maybe I'll get into scripts one day, but I always seem to have too little time to embark on learning what seems quite a major new skill.) Presumably I would need to do so in order to ...

One Instance - but opens several

I have Tools>Options>General>'Allow just one instance' set in MM 2.2.2.781.
Yet on opening MP3s downloaded in News Rover, I am getting multiple instances.

Auto Organize entry to reverse fields?

I have many library entries with the artist and title reversed within the filename, and an unwanted track number. For example Track = Always On My Mind - Willie Nelson Artist = Various Filename = 04 Always On My Mind - Willie Nelson.wma Track = Over The Rainbow - Eva Cassidy Artist = Various Filenam...

Problem using external macro program

I posted this last Friday in the Help forum, but so far no replies. Maybe someone here can offer some insight please, as it's really piqued my curiosity. I have a couple of keyboard macro programs I've used for years, in a wide variety of applications. I wrote a macro for a repetitive task in MM: to...

Thanks, Pablo - I'm pleased to hear it wasn't some mistake of mine, or a conflict with some other program.

Magic Node by Genre?

I posted this in the Help Forum yesterday morning but maybe this is a more appropriate forum? ------- I've used Pablo's excellent add-on and copied his Examples. One is Albums by Genre, created with this: Albums by Genre|icon:bottom level\<genre>\<album> In that node, the first genre here is 'Unknow...

Thanks very much for another thorough explanation. I think I've got it, but will need to do some more practical work to drive it home.

Never been there before, but under General tab>Configure, with each of my CD drives selected, it was indeed set to 4X. I've changed that to Maximum now. When I rip again I'll report back on my impression of speed. Presumably there's no significantly increased risk of errors at this Max setting? -- T...

Applying keyboard macros to MM

I have a couple of keyboard macro programs I've used for years, in a wide variety of applications. Today I wrote one for the repetitive task of opening the My Music node in MM. The sequence of keystrokes is simple: F7 (to go to Libary, from wherever presently located) mm (the 2nd m to get past recen...

Magic Node by Genre?

I've used Pablo's excellent add-on and copied his Examples. One is Albums by Genre, created with this: Albums by Genre|icon:bottom level\<genre>\<album> In that node, the first genre here is 'Unknown (41)'. But as you can see from this screenshot, the Genre tag is not unknown, it's Blues. http://www...
