Re: Do you want the following program to make changes...
It's a pretty standard warning now on Windows. And, of course, MM is going to change something., It's going to change MM! Since the last upgrade (MM 4.1.5.1828), everytime I launch MM, Windows 7 asks me Do you want the following program to make changes to this computer? I remember this happening bef...

Re: Another nice feature for classical music
It's not impossible at all. The sort function in Orange CD (a record cataloguing software I use) always sorts 1-9 before 10 and 10-99 before 100 when they are embedded in a string with no padding with 0 or spaces. My Haydn entries for String Quartets, Piano Sonatas and Symphonies are all correctly o...

Re: Auto-Organize, what am I doing wrong?
It's not "auto" in the sense that it works without you doing anything. Auto-organize is under tools and you need to start it with the files you want organized highlighted in MM (so they have to have been scanned into the MM library). You'll need to set up the mask you want auto-organize to...

Re: Top level question before I start populating my library
Yes. If necessary MM will convert your file to whatever format(s) your device allows without changing anything about the original file. Once your device is set up, you don't need to do anything as MM will automatically convert what it needs to. A reminder that for most iPods iTunes needs to be insta...

Essential feature for classical music in MM5
I do realize that an Alpha is quite a ways from a releasable product, but I thought I would mention at this early stage one of the MM4 extensions that is essential for me. That is linked tracks, which greatly facilitates the playing of classical music. A single classical work often has several track...

Re: iOS 10: iTunes removes MM music from iPhone
This seems to be an iPhone/iTunes issue and I think it can be solved by setting your iPhone to Manually manage music and videos (this is done in iTunes) MM (4.1.14.1813) syncs good with my iOS 10 iPhone. But any time when I connect with iTunes (e.g. to update apps) all music is being removed. Syncin...

Some minor annoyances and a major one [#14098]
1. On the Basic Tab of the File Properties edit form in MM4 with the Classical Music type, the order of fields to be filled in on the left side of the form is: Title Artists(s) (ensemble, soloist) Conductor(s) Composer(s) Album Album Artist(s) In MM5 this order has changed and is now: Title Artists(...

Re: 2057: Play now not working correctly [#13877]
The problem I wrote about (Now Playing not actually playing now) does not seem to have been solved in 2061. With some tracks already in the Now Playing list, clicking Now Playing for a new track just results in the old Now Playing starting again. Hard to evaluate the Alpha when it fails the most fun...

Re: Album Covers
By "downloaded" do you mean you ripped the cd to your hard drive or are you playing directly from the cd? The first time I downloaded CDs into MediaMonkey for windows, the album covers show when the songs play from those CDs. However, ever since then , when CDs are downloaded, no album cov...

Re: 2057: Play now not working correctly [#13877]
I also have a problem with MM5 Play Now, but a somewhat different one. If I right click on a track in the browser in the middle of the display, and click on Play Now, the track is added at the top of the Now Playing list, but it does not play. The highlighted track in the Now Playing list remains th...

Your library is being upgraded ... or not
When I started MM5 this morning I got this message
Your library is being upgraded to the latest version. It can take up to several minutes...
Three hours later, it was still updating. When I canceled I believe it sent an error message. Cancelling left MM5 unusable.

Re: Classical Music path(s)?
Thanks for the link to this. It looks very powerful and it will take a bit of working with it to know all that it can do. A major concern, of course, is how much of the added information a program like MediaMonkey could make use of. In particular, I could not see any way to play tracks through MM fr...

Re: Classical Music path(s)?
The problem I faced in how to organize classical music files is that many albums have several composers and sometimes several performers. Yet I wanted all the tracks of an album to be in the same folder. That would lead to lots of "Various Composers" or "Various Artists" entries ...

Single item edit freeze
I have run into a rather strange bug. If I am editing a single track and close out by clicking okay, MM5 will often (always?) freeze. It does send in a bug report so there should be a good number of these from me. What I did find interesting is that this never seems to happen if I am editing several...
