Re: How to handle new NAS IP address
Folder Monitoring will probably not interfere, however you'd need to remove the old entries anyway as they point to the wrong IP. Then you'd use Locate Moved/Missing to get the files located on the new IP. OK so it sounds like it's still better to disable folder monitoring before using Locate Moved...

Re: How to handle new NAS IP address
In that case make a copy of the database file which will allow you to revert. Then start MediaMonkey and disable any Folder Monitoring. There likely isn't a problem as it's trying to scan a location (IP) that is from the old NAS. So files on the new NAS shouldn't be scanned in (which is what you ca...

Re: How to handle new NAS IP address
YouTube and online search for your model router can be of great help in solving the subnet (IP). However if you don't want to go that route Locate Moved/Missing Files should match the files to their new location (IP). Do not scan your files till you fix this. Thanks, yeah I was able to get some ins...

Re: How to handle new NAS IP address
It depends, did you scan by IP or device name. Generally you'd use device name, so the IP doesn't matter and any changes to the IP don't affect MediaMonkey. If you scanned by IP, you'd need to use File > Locate Moved/Missing Files to update the files to the new location (new IP) or easier, match th...

How to handle new NAS IP address
I got a new router and the IP address for my NAS which houses all my media is no longer valid. I'm trying to understand my options but if I don't re-assign the old IP address what changes would I need to make in MM4 to reconnect? Also would I need to change anything to sync to MMA devices?

Re: database size
Good to know, thanks. I've saved dozens of copes and each time I add tracks the database becomes noticeably larger, aside from the last couple times.

database size
The last few times I've copied my database over to a backup folder I noticed the file size has remained exactly the same, yet in that time I've added 100's of tracks and tagged with album art etc. The size of the database should have increased noticeably. Any thoughts? Should I be concerned data is ...

Re: Rip verification
Understood it's imperfect, I just thought it strange that 13 out of 13 weren't found. I guess if there's no known issues, maybe I'll go buy a lottery ticket

Rip verification
Last week I ripped 13 CD's with MMW4 and the look up information/tags were all correct, but the rip verification didn't find any of the CD's in the database. I've only encountered that on small number of the 100's of CD's I've ripped in MMW. I haven't changed any of the related settings for this and...

Re: Discogs Tagger 5.80 (Updated: 2021-03-08)
I wish I would have noticed this a long time ago, but it seems like the tagger is using the Album Name for the Series tag. Even when there is an actual Series entered in Discogs, the Album Name seems to override that. Can you make the tagger actually record the Series (when it exists in Discogs), if...

Re: New MM5 user questions
1) Yes, that would work. Any changes made outside of MediaMonkey would require rescanning (or Folder Monitoring) to be picked up. 2) Yes, having to installations do something at the same time on the database could be problematic as the underlying SQLite database isn't designed for this. Your mileag...

Re: New MM5 user questions
1) On update from MM4 to MM5 it will ask you to import your database and settings from MM4 (supposing you did not install MM4 as portable). After importing all your data are preserved. Discog tagger is replaced by native Music Brainz tagger in MM5 allowing to auto-tag also based on fingerprinting e...

New MM5 user questions
I haven't switched over from MMW4 to MMW5 yet and have a couple questions 1) One of the main uses of MMW4 for me has been the Discogs tagger. I understand this function doesn't currently exist in MMW5 (very unfortunate!), but if I'm using both versions, would MMW5 recognize all the data tagged using...

So if the MMA settings I listed above aren't an issue, what next?
