Adding to Library
I have about 4000 songs to add to library and it is taking a long time. it looks like its going to take about 5 days. Is this normal?
No. That is not normal. I have 110,000 tracks and it takes less than 24 hours.
Adding tracks to the libary can be both CPU and Network bandwidth dependant. I suggest taking a looks at Microsofts "Task Manager", which can be invoked by pressing CNTR-ALT-Delete, to see where you bottleneck may be.
A few things to check:
* Under Options - Deselect "Analyze tracks for duplicates" will reduce the CPU load.
* USB Port - if the tracks you are adding are external, and accessed via USB, confirm that you are getting USB2 level performance.
