"There was a problem updating database to the newest ve

Post by jcapaul »

I recently upgraded to the new MM.

I had my music on a network drive, which my desktop and laptop accessed by changing the .ini file. On my laptop, I change the .ini when not connected to the network to use the database on my hard drive.

I upgraded both pc's separately. When my pc upgraded, MM made a new database on my C:. The problem is, that when i move this working database to my network drive and change the .ini file, I get the message "There was a problem updating database to the newest version". I can put the database on either local drive and it works, but will not work on a network drive.

What can i do? I really want my old MM functionality back. Do i need the gold version?

I get the same error message. In my case, this happens when I have rebooted. The solution is to open Explorer end click once om the network drive. Seems like Windows (XP) have to do something active on the mapped drive before MediaMonkey "can see" it.

This can also happen if you have another mediamonkey process running. Check your Task Manager.
