Removing playing track emboldening

How can I remove MM's emboldening of the playing track? I want to avoid the displacement and extra truncation that it causes.

Perhaps some skin modification to change the style from bold to coloured?

It's not user configurable, but it might be something that a skin can modify, not sure about that though.

No, it can't be changed even with skinning. At the moment the Now playing song is bolded, and that is not configurable.
