Auto Tag from Web not functioning at all

I am using MM Gold 3.2.0.1294 on a Windows XP Pro machine.
I used to find the Auto Tag From Web function useful, but a couple of days ago this just stopped working. Even if I highlight a set of tracks from a well-known and properly tagged album, it simply gives up after a half second, with a message saying "No result was found..." in the main box, and the artist's name alone (no album name) in the search box. My web access is working fine (as the fact that I am here posting on the same machine testifies).
What has gone wrong? Or - more to the point - how do I put it right?
