Open MM... 17-29 seconds of "Readng Files..."
What's up with that? I can't startup MM without it 'Reading Files" for 17-29 seconds (I actually timed a few runs) and doesn't give me access to my files. I never had this problem with ver 3. What's up?

Make sure you maintain less files in the Now Playing.

It doesn't matter if the list is empty or listing all of my songs, it does the same thing. Same with playlists. Tiny ones take a long time to come up as well. Every single time.

Could just be a slow hard drive. I used to have that issue on my laptop (laptops have notoriously slow spinning hard drives) before I upgraded to an SSD. Now I never see that message anymore.

Same hard drive that doesn't give me any problems with anything else. Just this.

You might try a defrag just in case.smellhole wrote:Same hard drive that doesn't give me any problems with anything else. Just this.

I use Diskeeper. It continuously keeps my hard drive defragged (that's a funny word). I had to wait 22 seconds just now to get into MM.
Can't someone 'official' help me out here? This is damn annoying.

Re: Open MM... 17-29 seconds of "Readng Files..."
I had an issue with this when I had a bunch of .m3u playlists scattered around my music collection (most had improper links in them as well). Once I removed these playlists, MediaMonkey opened much quicker.
Re: Open MM... 17-29 seconds of "Readng Files..."
Damn if that didn't seem to do the trick. Got rid of all my m3u lists and back to normal it went.
Grrr.... when are we going to get pls support?

I know we may sound annoying, can you please make screenshot of MM While Showing Reading Files on Startup?
Send me link on PM if you do not want it public.

It's fixed! I deleted the .m3u files and now it works like I just drove it off the show room floor.
