MediaMonkey and WIN media player

Post by junkdiver »

In running MM should WIN Media Player be turned off? Reason I ask is a couple of months ago I downloaded MM and was trying to set up MM as my default media player. I discovered that my Win media player was corrupt and the result was that all recordings under their folders were scattered shuffled to the the wind under multiple folders labeled "Unknown Media." Win Media player was a nightmare to work with and I want to getaway from it.

No, however if you have both modifying files (especially renaming or moving files) it can cause problems as they're both working on the same files. In that case files could become unavailable: https://www.mediamonkey.com/support/ind ... ls-to-play

WMP is also known to create Artwork files for the files in its Library, which some find annoying.
