Audio ONLY Player: no web, no auto properties

I bought MM Gold 4-5 years ago. I have installed and used several period of times.

I stopped using after some kind of serious malfunction mangled file properties in my 50,000+ song library? I didn't reinstall for a long time. Used iTunes to repair library.

iTunes recently announced out of biz. Reinstalled MM. Uninstalled 2-months later (today).

I like many customization features of MM but like most apps/programs today... it is becoming way too intrusive, way too connected, makes too many assumptions on configuration.

I don't want: a video player; a dj-party mode; no Bluetooth, or other sharing services that are insecure (UDP, etc); a connected metadata/properties svc; I don't want a shopping service; in fact I would prefer absolutely zero connection to the web; no pictures manager; no video services/features?

I just want a great audio player with the ability to manage a large audio/music library.

Tried foobar2000 but it's also using way too many web services/connections.

I am now transferring my library and software (MM and foobar2k) to a dedicated pc that will have NO internet connection.

You can configure many things.
  • Tools > Options > Metadata Lookup, disable options, these are the only auto-lookup features, others are manually done by the user.
  • Tools > Options > Appearance, disable Show Links in the File List
  • Bluetooth, this is a PC thing, MediaMonkey doesn't connect to Bluetooth itself, but can play via Bluetooth if PC is connected to it (generally you can disable Bluetooth in PC settings
  • Tools > Options > Media Sharing, disable the Server if you don't want to use it
  • Tools > Options > Player, disable Accept Input/Control of MediaMonkey Player via UPnP/DLNA, if you don't want to use it
  • Party Mode, don't use it, it doesn't get in the way if you don't need it
  • Videos, don't use it, it doesn't get in the way if you don't need it
