Synchronize Tags Fails On AAC

I added some albums using the AAC plug-in trial for some time. I used AAC.

These AAC files do reappear when scanning for unsynchronized tags. Syncing again, CTRL-S doesn't help. The files remain untouched (change date) since the day of the import.

I've purchased now the AAC plug-in, but the problem remains. I've searched all other hints including this http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/inde ... 99&nav=0,5. I also installed the latest version of MediaMonkey.

I had once a similar problem with WMA files, where I had to install the right Windows Media Player. This time I've got no clue.

AAC is a container and doesn't support tags. You need a format like M4A.

AAC files purchased from or ripped with iTunes are m4a, unless they're the old DRM-protected ones, which ar m4p.

AAC and m4a are almost identical, there is slight container difference.

Have you tried to rename AAC to M4A?

Hi,
I am using 4.1.21.1875 version and like the software a lot since a couple of years.
As I am using more and more .aac files I am having trouble to tag these files. It does not safe the tag information. If I add information it stays there till I change the selection and then it vanishes. Do I need something for tagging aac?

Hi,
It was talked about many times and RAW AAC do not support tagging. It needs to be in a Container eg. M4A.

Wonder why are you using plain AAC instead of M4A as it can be lossless converted?
