Editing Genre

Post by i317952 »

I like how MM will autotype a genre, but I have accidentally created some genres that I do not want autotyped. Is there a file I can edit to remove my genre mistakes?

1. Menue: Tools> Options> Library ... activate: Remove unused attributes
2. Restart MM
3. Menue: File> Maintain Library: Optimise databas (complete)
4. Restart MM

Erwin,
Thank you very much for the prompt reply and advice.

I have successfully reviewed steps 2 through 4. No questions there.

Regarding step 1, unfortunately, "Remove unused attributes" is absent. I have MMW Gold v4.1.25.1895

Is it possible "remove unused attributes" was added with your newer version of MMW or has that option been available for a long while?

Any other advice?

I thank you in advance for your assistance.

It's available and has been for a long time. It's right above "Remove unavailable items"

Hello Keith,

You should also always use the latest version of MM - or even better: the latest current beta version.
MM developers are constantly working on this great software to fix bugs.
You can find the download page for the last beta version in my signature (link to indicate my MM version).

Procedure for the UPDATE:
Never delete the current old version on your computer - this keeps your settings
1. Close MM
2. Download the latest beta version
3. Double click on the download
4. Change the skin to your liking (Tools> Options> Skin)
5. Restart MM

By the way: create a signature similar to mine. This saves helpful users from unnecessary queries.
Have fun

Hi,
If you want to mass edit single Genre the best is to right click (or slow double click) on it at genre Tree node and change it to a new name.
Best regards,
