What exactly is destroying a great Music Browser?

Post by Glenn62 »

What has happened? Monkey freezes. It grays out and loses songs in Playing Now. It adds random duplicates of one song on an album. It continually adds stuff ALREADY IN THE LIBRARY! Who destroyed this great APP? I want names...i am to the point of jettisoning this thing. I have used Gold for years...frustrated!

Hi,
That is not normal behavior at all. Can you please be more specific what you have tried and what you do in MM to get that behavior in order to try to follow your steps and replicate the problem?

Glenn I don't see any of that behavior ... what versions are you using?
Where's the db and ini stored

I am using the newest version and Win 10. When i put up playlist to play now, some of the songs are grayed out but are in the source file. i have random songs duplicate in MediaMonkey that are not file dupes. Occasionally MM just freezes and stops responding. The only thing i can do is the freezing issue, the other two are MM, not drivers or other apps.

What exact version number (Help > About)?

Where are the files stored (what type of storage) for which these issues occur? When duplicates occur, do both copies play or does 1 fail?

Hi,
Also you can add screenshot picture to your post (check my signature to see how). This really looks like issue already fixed and if not fixed then we would like to FIX ASAP. Thank you.

Since last week when I upgraded to latest version, am getting similar problems.
I don't use any Apple products on my laptop,
When I press any song first time in a playlist, it greys it out on all MM files, it doesn't seem to happen with the next song pressed in the playlist.

I can't see the point in using soon ,as all my files will be dis-associated from MM.

Are you saying only the first song you're trying to play fails to do so? Are the files stored on a network storage or a drive that may be in sleep mode?

When I search in any playlist, whichever track i first press on in that list greys out, be it the actual file is on my laptop or external storage. This all started after latest upgrade

Which version number of MediaMonkey?

If you try to play that file that gets out again after the next file did play does it still fail? What storage are the files stored on?

As I've already mentioned, this happened when i updated to the latest version 2 weeks ago (it was 4.1.27.1897 )

No they're greyed out and wont play.

I also mention this happens be they stored on laptop or external storage.

i repeat it didn't happen to the next track i pressed to play, though now it is, these tracks still exist

Hi,
There was no changes in library handling for that version.

What track properties say about Filename? Have you upgraded windows or any sound card drivers?

Yes I have auto updates and there have been some of late. Not sure what part of properties you refer to.

All appears OK again
