Hello
I've looked over the forums regarding sync issues but I couldn't find one regarding specifiaclly this issue so I'd like to share it. There seems to be a specific problem with the newest ipod classic 160gb & album art sync with MM. After a lot of test syncs I was finally able to reproduce the bug as follows:
- when you sync for the 1st time a playlist with -say- 3 albums with album art embedded in tags, the album art shows up correctly in ipod.
HOWEVER,
when you do a minor change in the tag of a song in the library (e.g. rename / mp3gain etc), and you sync again, this time the album art for that specific track is gone! Only way to recover album art in ipod is to delete the track/album (not the playlist- directly the album) and sync again . Of course if you do more changes , album art is gone for those tracks you change.
Ipod classic 160gb last version - last gen - brand new -
MM latest GOLD
sync options : as suggested in guide (delete tracks from ipod except games folder, force iTunes style folders etc)
Can anyone else confirm/reproduce the bug? It's very annoying to have to keep track of albums you change tags to delete them before sync from ipod..

Unfortunately we are not yet able to replicate, can you give us more detailed info on device, whole content from clean device and with few tracks sync if you see the issue.
Let me know if you are willing to help in PM and I'll give you detailed instructions and how we can handle it.

Re: last gen iPod classic 160gb & album art sync problem
Hello Pavle,
Thank for replying. Same issue either many or few playlists are copied to the device. The model no. is iPod Classic 160gb PART #: MC297QB/A & MODEL A1238.
Yes, I'm willing to help, feel free to PM me.
In the meantime can anyone else with last-gen iPod classic reproduce this issue?
thanks!

Re: last gen iPod classic 160gb & album art sync problem
Yeah, I think I'm having a similar issue:
-----------------------------
My Post @ http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 12&t=48044
I'm having some issues with album art syncing on a 80GB iPod Classic. All of my albums have covers, and every single image is embedded into the file. I've gone through my library with a fine-toothed comb to make sure that everything is consistent. For anyone who needs to do this, the "Tagging Inconsistencies" extension is a great tool.
But when I've tried to get all this art to transfer over to my iPod it doesn't work out so nice. Almost every album has several tracks with no art. No albums are completely void of album art. Has anyone experienced problems like this? When I go through my library in MediaMonkey all album art shows up perfectly.
----------------------------
I've tried rebuilding the device database, even restoring/formatting my iPod and resyncing the entire thing. I can't seem to pin down the root of the problem.

Re: last gen iPod classic 160gb & album art sync problem
hello, if you erase everything from ipod and you sync just 1 album with every track tagged with album art, do you have album art for each song in ipod or not? If you afterwards edit the track from MM and resync, does this cause album art to disappear (like my case)?
Re: last gen iPod classic 160gb & album art sync problem
I was finally able to fix the issue and it will be fixed in the next release.
Thanks for the report,
Jiri

I was wondering exactly what the fix is. I re-downloaded MM and I haven't yet been able to get covers appear for all tracks on an album on my iPod classic.
