I don't think this is a device specific problem but I just need the training on "How-To". I have an android device that I've used to create several playlists using the MediaMonkey Android app. So the playlists already exists on the device.
I have since installed PC version of MediaMonkey (free edition) onto my PC. Fresh install with no playlists yet.
How do I get my already established playlist(s) that are on my Android device to be created (sync'd) in MediaMonkey on my PC? I don't seem to see anyway of having those playlists transfer from my device into the PC mediaMonkey app.
Thanks in advance for your help.

This needs to be done with sync. In the Device Profile (Tools > Options > Portable Device Sync in MMW) you can set it to sync Playlists back to the PC (Library).

High Lowlander....thanks for the info. I do have that setup for my device within MM Windows and all the playlists are checked on to AutoSync--->PC. When the Confirmation displays showing what needs to sync, the Playlists are not listed. I agree to the Sync and the playlists do not get transferred. Very strange.
What am I missing?
Thanks,

MMW = Standard Edition 4.1.24.1883
MMA = Standard Licence 1.3.3.0842(2018)
MMA = Standard Licence 1.3.3.0842(2018)
Re: Having Playlists on Device created in PC MediaMonkey
That looks good. You did enable Auto-Sync new files and Playlists from the device to the PC on the Auto-Sync (--> Library) tab and the Playlists are in MMA itself?
If that's the case you should capture the sync in a debug log (step 4b) and attach it to a Support Ticket: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... ?f=12&t=69 In case of a wifi sync send a debug log from About in MMA and include the LogID in your ticket.

Re: Having Playlists on Device created in PC MediaMonkey
Thanks Lowlander....I just added the debug version. I just got very very unhappy though. With all this mucking around trying to get the MMA playlist to update to my MMW I just lost 4 of the 5 playlists that I had on MMA after 6 months of cataloging them as I was listening and adding them into the different MMA playlists. The MMA version was the playlist set that I continued to update as it's the most mobile. The updating of playlists from MMW to MMA must have been turned on and those playlists were empty which must have then obliterated my MMA playlists....unbelievable!!!!!
So Very very disappointing that trying to do this was such a mystery and one errant misstep throws over 6 months of hard work out the window.
I'm back to square one trying to figure out my next approach so this does not happen again.

Re: Having Playlists on Device created in PC MediaMonkey
If you rely heavily on MMA for editing files/Playlists I would do more regular syncs to get the updates to MMW. You should consider MMW your master Library.
I believe that on sync that the most recent edit is the one that propagates. So if MMW had the most recent edit for an item it would be send to MMA, and vice versa.
MMW can easily be backed up, however I'm not sure this is possible for MMA: https://www.mediamonkey.com/support/ind ... ey-library

Re: Having Playlists on Device created in PC MediaMonkey
Hi LL....thanks. Yes I would normally perform regular sync's always good practice. That is the crux of my problem however. I couldn't get a successful sync from MMA to MMW so I kept working on my playlist and also when I had the time tried to get MMA to push down my playlists to MMW with no success.
I will now make a small MMA playlist and work on it until I get success transferring it to MMW and try to send a log of that before spending too much effort on the playlist.
