MediaMonkey 4.1.2.5.1895
Pixel 3a MMA 1.3.6.0887
I wirelessly sync 11 autoplaylists on a regular basis.
Some of them are static (auto creation but always the same files), others change every time.
File Locations mask set to \Music\<playlist>\<title> - <artist>
One of the static lists always generates to \Music\<artist>\<album>\<track#:2> <artist> - <title>
for *some* tracks.
This matches the m3u on the device, so it plays correctly, but I'm scratching my head here.
There is nothing distinctive about or common among those songs that I can figure out.
When I export this list to a local folder with the files, everything is as expected.
Same result when I send all the files to a conventional (non-auto) playlist.
Thoughts?
Some files for *one* playlist don't follow mask

Re: Some files for *one* playlist don't follow mask
Could they be a different Type like Classical Music instead of Music?

Re: Some files for *one* playlist don't follow mask
One is, but the mask is the same for all Types, so that's weird.
Re: Some files for *one* playlist don't follow mask
Were the files already on the device prior to setting the Mask or were they copied to the device using another method than sync?
In the Device Profile there is an option to enforce the mask for files already on the device. Maybe that can fix it?

Re: Some files for *one* playlist don't follow mask
As part of troubleshooting, I delete everything in the \Music\ folder as well as \Playlists\.
The problem is persistent.
By default I uncheck the 'Enforce mask' to simplify the MMW/MMA interaction.

Re: Some files for *one* playlist don't follow mask
Is there something distinctive about their tags/filenames like special characters?
If not maybe a debug log (step 4b) capturing the whole sync from MMW's perspective shows why this happens. Send it to Support: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... ?f=12&t=69

Re: Some files for *one* playlist don't follow mask
Thought of that too - some paths have punctuation, but have none.
Certainly possible for these files to have a common anomaly.
However, across the other ten playlists and ~300 tracks, there must be special characters,
yet they all follow the mask.
Is there a way to scan/check for hidden special characters?
Don't have time for the debug right now, will work on it this evening.
