iPod classic shows no music after copy to other device

Post by Dr Bunsen Honeydew »

iPod classic 160 gb
MediaMonkey version: 4.1.26.1896

Dear all,

I own an ipod classic 160 gb with about 13.000 songs.

I wanted to back up this ipod to my spare ipod (that I recently bought).

MediaMonkey did read my original ipod and I could select all of my 13.000 songs and used the copy function to copy all these songs to my spare ipod.
The copy action took a while but it looked pretty straightforward and all seemed to go well.
After copying, MediaMonkey listed all the songs on my original ipod and on my spare ipod.

However, the ipods themselves do not display any songs. Apparantly somethig went wrong which I can not understand.
Both ipods do have the files of the songs on their harddrives but these can not be played. The files are named XXXX.m4a
iTunes also does not display any songs on both ipods.

Strange thing is: MediaMonkey still can read the 13000 songs and play them.

Is their a way to correct my original ipod so the 13000 songs can be played?

Help is appreciated very much.

Thank you.

Paul
