I am having problems with the ExternalTools script or it is just me.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2UcKI ... sp=sharing

outline of problem
I have been able to place an podcast rss style feed of youtube address into the mediamonkey database.

So i have looked and found the ExternalTools script. i have found on the internet youtube-dl as a parameter the the link to the youtube webpage and downloads the video.
Need to clarify
In the mediamonkey podcast list of episodes there is a list of youtube web pages ie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQiG2dfXd0 ( example link) in the path section

useing the ExternalTools script I seem not to work on paths that are SHOWING GREYOUT in the database.
i have tryed
C:\monkey\youtube-dl.exe
parameter %P

(error expecting script event. Invaliad procedure call or argument)

this is the comand line that works

Code: Select all

c:\youtube-dl http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQiG2dfXd0 ( example link)

Any ideas or what have i missed ?????
thanks kevin

using Advanced Renamer program with MM

Post by MrJamesEMcBride »

Hello,
I am a new MM user, and I figured out how to send a list of filenames to a filename editor to work on them. After I have manipulated the filenames, I need MM to reflect the changes made to the filenames, which it doesnt now. How can I accomplish that?

Thanks in advance

Hello,

Some years ago I was using your tool to launch a pdf viewer that took the filename out of the songs table (from a custom field in Songs) and it worked great.

Because of a reinstall on a new computer I've completely forgotten how I did this. I installed version 1.4 but the associated documentation on how to use this has disappeared from the web (and this forum).

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Simple, just use %W as the parameter, and voila it worked.

One can disregard this post.

Problem with a script: ExternalTools.VBS

Post by Edgar »

I wanted to change an option (Library> Tags & Playlists> "Update tags when editing properties" checkbox). It was checked and I wanted to remove the check. I did so then clicked on the "OK" button and got this:
Image
(just in case you can't see the image, here's the text:)
Error #-2147418113 - SongsDB.SDBUIDropDown
Control " has no parent window
File: "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey\Scripts\Auto\ExternalTools.vbs", Line: 666, Column: 4

BTW, I closed Options then reopened it and the check had been removed as I wanted.

Hi all,

Please pardon my ignorance on this...I try to understand how the parameters work, but it's confusing to me. I used to have this parameter set correctly, but after a reinstall of MM, I am at a loss and need some help.

I wish to have a selected track open into my external editor (SoundForge). Currently the editor opens, but the track does not load and I end up having to drag it over or use File > Open. I get an error in SoundForge "Warning: an error occurred when opening one or more files. The file could not be opened. Make sure that the file exists and that you have access to the file/folder."

I have the parameter "%O:" and "Run it once" selected. What other parameter do I need to include to ensure the file is loaded into the editor? Or is it a permission issue?

Thank you!

The parameters are ok for single processing.
If you played the desired file beforehand, MM has locked the file for editing.
In MM, play another file briefly and stop again.

Die Parameter sind für die Einzelbearbeitung OK.
Falls sie den gewünschten file vorher abgespielt haben, hat MM den File zur Bearbeitung gesperrt.
Spielen sie in MM einen anderen File kurz an und stoppen wieder.
