I'm stuck then. I need some DebugView or at the very least the exceptions log.

I'll work on getting that set up and PM it to you. I'm not a big fan of posting information I don't fully understand publicly.

If it helps, I don't get a pop-up or errors or any other indication that something went wrong when I do an auto-sync. The files just don't show up in iTunes. When I do "Send To: iTunes" on a playlist I get a list of files that didn't sync because they aren't compatible with the device.

Hi, I am new to your plugin. Have been looking for a way to sync my itunes lib with MM. I use the latter for managing my library and itunes for playing and syncing with iphones and ipads. I have a lot of music currently in itunes with playcounts and ratings that are not up to date in MM. Do i need to erase my itunes lib in order to start using your plugin? I have tried a few syncs for a few songs and they seem to be duplicated in itunes in your cache? Is it possible to keep the cache on my NAS or does it need to be on the computer where itunes is installed.

Very basic questions, but i have not found these issues adressed (although they most likely are there somewhere ).

also, do i need to check somewhere to make sure that NO songs in my MM lib is deleted?

Sorry to add to the never-ending problems but:

Currently when I sync with mediamonkey and then subsequently with iTunes with my Iphone 4 - iOS 5.0, iTunes 10.5.1 - the playlists are fully functional in itunes and all tracks present. However when I access the playlists on my iphone they are incomplete with only 1/10 or so of the songs present in comparison to the same playlist present in MM/iTunes.

Any suggestions on how to fix the incomplete playlist transferal?

Can someone help me with my debugview? Again, MM4 is freezing up when I try to sync a lot of tracks. I couldn't find anything telling in the debug log, the last line is

I waited about 10 minutes then did an end task on an unresponsive MM4.

Also, should I have deleted all tracks from iTunes after upgrading to MM4 to start fresh?

The plugin doesn't work in this way - you MUST add the playlist to the auto-sync list and trigger a sync via the circular arrow to the right of the icon in the navigation tree. I've added a note in the manual for the future.

@ronswanson 15000 tracks is pretty exceptional - it could take an extreme length of time to process. The tracks are being loaded into iTunes ok? How fast is the PC (GHz)

Hi, I am new to your plugin. Have been looking for a way to sync my itunes lib with MM. I use the latter for managing my library and itunes for playing and syncing with iphones and ipads. I have a lot of music currently in itunes with playcounts and ratings that are not up to date in MM. Do i need to erase my itunes lib in order to start using your plugin? I have tried a few syncs for a few songs and they seem to be duplicated in itunes in your cache? Is it possible to keep the cache on my NAS or does it need to be on the computer where itunes is installed.

Very basic questions, but i have not found these issues adressed (although they most likely are there somewhere ).

also, do i need to check somewhere to make sure that NO songs in my MM lib is deleted?

You sound like an ideal candidate. I too manage the music in MM and sync using iTunes.
Clearing your iTunes would be a good idea though not essential. You will of course lose any outstanding playcount information.
The cache can be stored on a NAS. It will operate a little faster if it is located on the same disk as the MM tracks.
The plugin does not delete any tracks out of MM. Tracks are added and deleted from the cache location - clearly this location should be separate to the MM tracks locations.

Have a read of the manual. It's location is explained at the beginning of this thread.

The playlist "Screwed" contains three files that I have been unable to sync. There is only one current playlist with that name, but there were others in the past couple days.

I've written before that clicking "Auto-Sync" also results in the files not being sent to iTunes, but using this method there is no feedback from the program telling you what files didn't get sent and why they didn't get sent. It goes right from "getting file list" to being done. The only way to get a list of files that didn't work is to do right click -> Send To: ITunes.

The problem initially arose, though, through doing an Auto-Sync. It still exists using this method, too.

I get no feedback doing an auto-sync - they just don't show up in iTunes - but when I select the playlist and try to manually sync them ("Send to: iTunes"), the message that they are "not compatible with the device" is returned.

@frankz I can promise you that the Send To: approach will never work. MM doesn't call the plugin functions in the right order and so the debugview output will be totally misleading. The 2 approaches are not interchangeable.

Can I ask that you re-run the test by using the auto-sync method and supply the debugview output from that one. You were getting no feedback to the screen, the log will have something I am sure.

I had this issue as well. At the same time, I found that I had an older dll in the ProgramFiles/MM/Plugins folder present. I deleted it, and then upgraded t the newest version of the plugin. I deleted all playlists and music from iTunes. I then sync'd and made sure my phone had no music. You can manually delete all songs in General Settings>Usage by the way. Then, I deleted all cache files from MMCache (some were hanging out for some reason).

At this point, I was clean again. I installed the latest version at the time (just prior to 2154) and resyn'd everything, and everything was ok.

I also noticed since running a MM Gold license, and running 2154 that my playlists are syncing 100% compared to MM. No differences at all, and I'm even converting some WMAs on the fly to MP3s via MM.

By the way Mark, to my above point, since running 2154, everything is just perfect!

Ok, it would be located on the same disk as my music. What do you mean by clearing iTunes being adviced but not essential? if i dont i will have duplicates? the only way i have found to export ratings and playcounts is by creating smart playlists in increments, export them as m3u-playlists and then manually edit playcount in MM. Do you know of another easier way?

I think the Access Violation Error is causing all the trouble. I googled on this error and I found to clean my registry.
I cleaned the registry and I deleted the maps 'automatically add to iTunes'.

and again... the Access Violation error still exists! :-S

When did you rename your pc from "frietje" to "frietje-laptop"?

On my desktop pc (called frietje) I had all the music files. Since this is an old computer I copied all the files to my new laptop called "frietje-laptop".

Do I need to rename my computer? What else can I do?
