There are only two ways to check the validity of lyrics or the accuracy of the contents of a site and that's to either have a valid copy of the lyrics or compare them to the original source of the song. I've been at this for 10 years on and off, it's a push regarding accuracy between the source being unattainable and the lyrics being bogus. Using lyricator I can get a month's worth of lyrics work done in a few days as opposed to scanning in the lyrics from a CD or vinyl cover which translates into being able to complete my collection in my life time. Its a great idea! Its just a question of, time and Hosting/Cost and making sure that they are the "correct" lyrics, a quicker way would be to use a database which is already setup
Final point I'm not the web police but before going a crusade regarding copyright infringement it would help to have a clear understanding of copyright law and how it has been interpreted by the courts which is a completely different issue than getting sued. They can sue you if their case has no merit, I'll just ignore the moral issue as it's an oxymoron. Hey friend I freely admit to being a user one who is willing to pay for what he wants. I will give you one thing piggybacking someone's site or using open source is likely to land us in the same situation we are now. BTW I used Songbird before I purchased MM Gold, lyricator was far superior and the content more reliable for my needs at that time. I can not speak to the current database used with Songbird, I do have Winamp but removed the lyrics script it was unreliable at best
