How to control MM as client in another computer

Post by acmeseed »

Hello,

I just upgraded to version 4 Gold and noticed that the what's new document lists being able to control MM in another computer as a client, but I can't figure out how to make this work.

I have tried working with the Media Sharing settings and can setup either computer to be a media server, I can see the music from the other computer and play it locally, but what I would like to do is control the client in another computer.

My setup is as follows, a computer connected to my stereo running MM (located in a hard to get place). A laptop with my MP3 library. I have setup the laptop to be a media server. Do I have to also setup the remote computer to be a media server, or do I just have to turn on the Allow Control of MediaMonkey player via UPnP/DLNA setting?

Do I need something other than MM to make this work?

I will greatly appreciate any feedback you can provide.

Mike.

You'll need an application that can control a media server. For some see: http://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index.p ... NA_Devices

Thanks.

I assume that the MM that I want to control needs to be setup as a server and turn on the setting to allow it to be controlled?

I think it only needs the option to allow control enabled.
