If a song is on multiple play lists, it's grayed out.

Post by sacocats »

Hi, I just bought MMA pro (newest version from Google play) and I like it a lot. (also using latest version of MMW 4 from the official website) I'm having two issues. The first one, I've found other people that have it but no resolution. Wondering if anyone has seen the fix for this.

I have songs that appear on multiple play lists. While the files are present and playable via the artists or albums view, they don't play in their respective playlists. They're grayed out. Is there something I can do or is this a bug?

Thanks for any help getting me up and running.

Which actual versions of MMA and MMW and how exactly did you sync? I'm not aware of this being an issue (there are users with greyed out files though) and haven't seen this myself either.

1.3.3.0842 for MMA, 4.1.23 on desktop. Thanks for the response.

I used wifi sync. I didn't receive any warning or error message. I initially synced only 2 playlists to test. Then I deleted those , put in a new SD card and synced all of my many playlists.

I then tried a sync from desktop, and I got an error "list index out of bounds (2)" with the name of the songs that are on multiple playlists. I searched that error and saw it was a bug in a previous version but apparently fixed by now.

Did the problems start after you swapped SD cards? Did you delete the Playlists on the original SD card from MMA, from MMW or otherwise?

It started after. I deleted the old sd card sync entry from MMA. The new card was not used before. The playlists I originally synced had no issues (they didn't have the same songs). The playlists that were subsequently added share some songs, and those songs are grayed out on either playlist. I haven't made any changes to MMW. Also, the playlists and songs work fine in MMW, nothing grayed out.

That does remind me. MMW seems to store playlists in a database file. Upon wifi sync, I noticed m3u files of all my playlists in a playlist folder on the SD card. I assumed MMW generated those because that's how the music got on the sd card in the first place.

Playlist files generated on your device is controlled in the Device Profile. The Playlist files are useful as this allows other Players to use them on your device.

Hi,
I am testing this on two devices and could not replicate.

Here is what I have done:
1. Created several Auto-Playlists with static subplaylists (for easier testing)
2. Created additional static playlists with some of the tracks in above playlists
3. Created one Auto playlist that contains all above playlists.
4. Synced playlists from step 1.
5. Changed SDCard sync playlists from step 2
6. Synced again with all playlist and tracks from steps 1-3
7. All playable and none were grayed.
Best regards,

Thanks for the help. When I get a chance next weekend, I am going to wipe the SD card and MMA and start fresh. Hopefully that will resolve my issues.

It seems to work after deleting everything (app, SD card) and starting fresh.
