I recently switched phones after rating many of the thousands of songs on my previous phone using 1.3.3 and then 1.3.4.
I was under the assumption that ratings were changed in the ID3 tag, but now after putting the same SD card in my new phone, all the ratings are gone. Is it normally stored in a database? And if so does that database use the unique numeric identifier given to an SD card on a given phone - the way it does for playlists?
If that's the case, is there any way to export and import ratings and playlists?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Are ratings stored in ID3 tags or somewhere else?

MMA can't save tags to the files yet. You'll need to sync with MMW to have the tag changes be saved to the files in MMW and then synced back to the device.

That's really disappointing.
Is that the same for any editing? Genres, artist, etc?
I used to use Poweramp to edit my tags all the time. It's kind of a critical feature.

Yes, MMA can't save tags to the files on the device, yet. Syncing with MMW is currently the method to get tag changes saved to the files.
