I want to buy MediaMonkey Gold but don't know which license or items I would need.
Offers are:
- MediaMonkey Gold - Lifetime License
- MediaMonkey Gold - Version 3.x License
- MediaMonkey AAC/M4A Encoder Plug-in
According Internet, MediaMonkey 4.x will be released soon.
According Amazon MediaMonkey 4.x requires Windows 7, which I don't have.
What are the system requirements for MediaMonkey 4.x?
Which devices will be supported by MediaMonkey 4.x?
Do I need MediaMonkey AAC/M4A Encoder Plug-in, if I want to convert *.flac files to *.aac on the fly?
Please find below a link to Amazon, offering MediaMonkey 4. Is that the original product?

Re: Please help me buy the MM product i need
I suggest the Lifetime license as you get the current 3.x the new 4.x and also future 5.x .... x.x. There probably will be an upgrade program for users who recently bought 3.x so they can a 4.x when it's released. You will also need the AAC encoder if you plan to convert to AAC.
http://www.mediamonkey.com/addons/brows ... r-plug-in/MediaMonkey 3 already has support for playback of .aac/.m4a/.m4b/.m4p tracks via Quicktime. This plugin adds support for encoding of .aac/.m4a tracks, along with native support (i.e. Quicktime is not required) for playback of .aac/.m4a/.m4b tracks.

Re: Please help me buy the MM product i need
Thanks a lot for the quick response.
Will I be able to use MM 4.x?
The ability to upgrade to a product, which I can't use because of not matching system requirements, is quite useless. My OS is Windows XP SP3. I have no reason to upgrade that.

Yes MM4 still works on XP, I'm running the beta on it now.

Re: Please help me buy the MM product i need
Sorry:
Hi,
That's incorrect information. As you all know, MediaMonkey 4 pre-release testing has yet to begin, so it won't be available on Amazon by the advertised date of Oct. 22.
I'll try to straighten it out with the distributor directly.

Re: Please help me buy the MM product i need
I think, MM 4 Gold is the product I need.
Issues solved by MM 4:
Sync playlists with iPod Touch Gen 4
Display music stored on SE devices in one view
Issues that still existing:
Can't see album art on mobil devices, although the album art is stored in the track.
New issue:
Need to create/modify "Collections" because MM 4 distinguishes classical and non-classical music.

Re: Please help me buy the MM product i need
Since I removed all music from the C905 and did a complete re-sync with MM 4, all display problems are gone. Music incl. album art is displayed correctly in MM, once the device is connected.KarlAuer wrote:....

However, I have not done that on the other devices, yet.

Collections can be modified/created in the Gold version under Tools > Options > Media Tree.
