Going on the fact mm writes those tags when you anaylize song volume, (which i didnt know it did) then i'd have to say we all use it and i've not had trouble in using it,

I started using ReplayGain at the time of MM3 because it was easy to get into it with automatic analyzis rather than using the early tools.
My initial hopes were those expected by RG, but also to physically level tracks for DJ sets based on those magic numbers.
I did all this with a mixed success, it's not accurate or it's my perception or my setup.
In some cases it helps, in others it doesn't, I can't be more precise about it.

In a few cases I experienced clipping on tracks that had strong correction values. I can't remember if they were + or - but >9 db.
Without doing thorough testing I guess it's pure coincidence if clipping did not happen on physically leveled tracks.

So... I don't mind keeping those magic numbers in my files as far I can activate or deactivate RG in any player.
From now on I will check physically leveled tracks if the initial magic numbers were high.
