Post by jmcc »

I'm looking for a simple to use product to rip my commercially bought video DVDs into MMW so that I can free up some shelf space - anyone got any recommendations? Thx John

Simple is MakeMKV. It has no settings to worry about and creates MKVs of your DVD/BLURays. It can include multiple audio streams as well as multiple subtitles (that is user selectable per disc).

Handbrake is something else often mentioned, but I haven't used it myself.

Also look at anydvd (from slysoft) to decrypt dvds and blurays. For dvds I have used dvdclonemobile from slysoft for years. But the last couple years I started using dcdcatalyst. Not only great ripper but also great for conversions.

MakeMKV is working a treat. Thanks again for the "heads-up".
