Clear the Now Playing
Rightclick and PLAY Now any track .. it starts playing
Rightclick and Play Now another track .. it goes to # 1 and pushes down the currently playing track.

Play Now does not play now whether dclick or rightclick.

Tools/Options/Player is set correctly.

Works even odder when you have dj active and it has some tracks in the queue.

I cannot reproduce this exact behavior, but it definitely do weird things sometimes.

Still happening in 2060.
1 clear now playing
2 turn off auto dj
3 dclick Season of the witch .. loads and plays (it is #1).
4 after a few minutes dclick on Try Anything Once .. loads as #1, kicking season of the witch down.
5 right Click/play It's Only Money. It goes to #1 all others shift down and Season of the witch starts over again.
6 right click/pllaynext Baby's Calling Me Home and it goes to the position under season of the witch which is playing now.

Thanks. I have finally reproduced such problems. Will look at it.

I also have a problem with MM5 Play Now, but a somewhat different one. If I right click on a track in the browser in the middle of the display, and click on Play Now, the track is added at the top of the Now Playing list, but it does not play. The highlighted track in the Now Playing list remains the one that was previously playing, although it then stops playing. If I then right click on the track that is now at the top of the list (the one just added to the list) and choose Play Now it will start playing. This is just not what happens in MM4, of course. There a track that is highlighted in the middle browser and chosen to Play Now is added to the bottom of the Now Playing list and immediately starts playing. I definitely prefer the MM4 version of Play Now.

yarguy: it was bug, should be fixed in the next build.

The problem I wrote about (Now Playing not actually playing now) does not seem to have been solved in 2061. With some tracks already in the Now Playing list, clicking Now Playing for a new track just results in the old Now Playing starting again. Hard to evaluate the Alpha when it fails the most fundamental test of a music player - playing the music I want it to play.

inconvenient true but all you need to do is drag and drop .. for next play
