Post by dtsig » Tue Jan 31, 2017 11:52 pm

Since the alpha does not like the codec extension .. are there any video file types that the alpha will play and if so what are they?

thanks

It should play the same formats like Windows Media Player do, i.e. all that have DirectShow or Media Foundation codecs in system. In Windows 10 it is e.g. WMV, MP4/H264+AAC, AVI/MPEG4+MP3. I you have installed e.g. LAV filters, it should play nearly all possible formats and containers. The codec pack will be needed mainly for video encoding.
