2062 - Manage Database

Post by dtsig »

there does not appear to be a "FULL" optimize available. Or am i just misreading?
What does the backup really do .. it takes more time to click the ok button that it takes to complete .. which seems a little fast.
What does Rebuild Database do?

Hi,
FULL was removed due the REBUILD option regarding that Rebuild is faster than FULL.
BACKUP make copy of your MM.DB just to be safe
REBUILD replaces FULL as it recreated whole MM.DB Table structure and not just Indexes and triggers that were in FULL Version.

The "Optimize database (complete)" actually just copied tables and its data.

The "Rebuild Database" can re-create removed triggers and indexes and also re-creates relation tables like artists, albums, genres, folders (build 2063+) from the Songs table.
So "Rebuild Database" is more powerful to repair a corrupted/partial or a malformed database.
