Art View/Browser View/Grid View - Why 3 Views for same thing?

Post by Davo »

1. Select Collection It opens in Browser view
2. Select Albums (See all) . It opens in Art View
3. Select another node in the Collection say' Composers' . It opens in Grid View.

& just to complicate it the Browser View seems to have the Column Browser icon

Hi,
I can't replicate wrong Icon, but regarding other things each node can have defined own view so that is why you see them differently.

If I am wrong can you please send few screenshots so that I can understand it better.

Hi Peke
The 3 views have different names but they all look the same to me ie a Grid View. So i want to know what the difference is between each view.

I personally also see this as confusing, added as https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=15712

I agree that it is unnecessary and unhelpful to rename "Grid" view to "Art" view, just in the Albums sub-node.
... it looks like there is something more to learn, but there isn't

And by that, I am assuming that you are saying that the Browser view icon is very similar to the MM4 Column Browser icon .. right?

That is not going to cause too much confusion in MM5, because the Column Browser no longer has an icon.

I think that the greater point is that the icons for List and Album&Tracks views are too similar. The Art People should be able to come with something better for Album&Tracks eg. https://www.dropbox.com/s/23s4ym6kcqy58 ... n.png?dl=0
Want a dark skin for MM5? This is the one that works best for me .. elegant, compact & clear.
