2213 - GPM sync trashes MM database

Post by Barry4679 »

The !st sync of my GPM library usually takes 6 minutes.
V2213 took 45 minutes for this task.
It inserts, into the MM db, a lot of unwanted junk that is in my GPM library

It looks to me that it is ignoring this setting

Hi,
are you sure that you changed the settings (from its default) before the scanning?
I am not aware of any change in this between 2211 and 2213

Yes, I am reasonably sure. ... it was a couple of days ago now.

The checkbox settings were as shown at the end of the scan.
And the option is off by default anyway now. ... maybe you have forgotten that?
So I am reasonably sure that there is a problem.

I have not got time to look at it again today. ... Maybe someone with a smaller GPM library could verify.
Otherwise I will revisit it a day or so.

Yes, the option is off by default (which means that by default _all_ the content is imported).
i.e. this checkbox is off:
[ ] Only include content that matches files already in the database

So you would need to check the checkbox before the first scan -- which you probably haven't done.

Apologies ... probably my brain fade.

Is a while since I tested GPM sync, and I (falsely?) "remembered" that you had agreed to default to linking tracks only, but not importing (my GPM library junk) tracks into MM.db.

I suppose I must have dreamt that I won this argument.

Sorry for wasting your time. Feel free to delete this thread if you want to.
