Alfabet Toolbar

Post by Sietsy »

I would really like to see a toolbar being created with only all the letters of the alfabet. I have lots and lots of complete albums and it's pretty difficult to find the right one instantly. So I would like to click on the 'M' to go to Madonna more easily.

Is there anything like this? It should also be customizable to make it work for albums, album artists, artists, and so on.

Easily done with the Magic Nodes script. Do a search on it in the scripts thread of the forum.

And how should I do this? What kind of script should I be using?

And how do I get the script as a toolbar?

The Magic Nodes script can be downloaded from the Scripts and Components forum where you also can find more information on how to use it.

Magic Nodes will be able to create nodes in the Explorer Tree, not a toolbar.

Magic nodes will not create a toolbar, but will create modifiable nodes in the library pane.

You can download it Herefor MediaMonkey 2
Or A modified version which works with MM3 Here.

Then you can go to the tutorial on the magic nodes web site, Hereto learn how to create nodes. I believe the second or third example shows what you are looking for.
...unless you truly want a toolbar, then you are probably out of luck.

Hope that helps.

This was tackled before, and a script written, but seemingly not continued. Anyway...

I also asked about this a while ago in this post: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... highlight=

It did work with MagicNodes quite well but since one of the recent Betas it doesn't seem to work anymore.

But this was working great when it did.

Maybe this can be useful: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 5005#45005

EDIT: This is the same link as what Guest posted. Afaik there was nothing to continue about the script (it worked as wanted).

Cheers
