This would be a big improvement over the current iteration of MM. It's a huge feature that I really need. An idea of what it may look like:
This has so many uses... one awesome one I can think off of the top of my head is maintaining identical libraries on two separate computers without any crazy set-ups.

Re: Background Auto-Organize - Copy Option
I think a background copy function is more dangerous than anything (although no real harm can be done), so I think the current option to copy in Tools > Auto-Organize Files is sufficient. Anyway I wonder how many people need to copy files and how many of those prefer it automated.

Re: Background Auto-Organize - Copy Option
I agree with Lowlander, it's too dangerous because it creates duplicates in the library, and leads to confusion when you forget this background process is working. It's fine when it moves files, but for copying files MM will need to check if they already been copied, slowing down the whole process. And what happens when sources files are modified? ...
Re: Background Auto-Organize - Copy Option
Well I think you're missing my point with this. I want to maintain to complete libraries in two seperate location without having to go and Auto-Organize each time. Also you cannot do what I want to do with the current manual auto-organize.Lowlander wrote:I think a background copy function is more dangerous than anything (although no real harm can be done), so I think the current option to copy in Tools > Auto-Organize Files is sufficient. Say you have two folders. One is named "New Music", another is named "Music". All new music I get would go into "New Music", but I want to have all of those files copied into the "Music" folder following the auto-organize rules. I want to maintain two separate folders. Do you know of a better to do this?

Re: Background Auto-Organize - Copy Option
Virtual CD can help with this. You would need to select all files once in a while to send to Virtual CD, but no issues with duplication and also tracks in Virtual CD would get tags updated when changes are made on originals.
