AMAZING! Thank you soooo much!!!

Quick question. Why can't I get the tag from web to work? Is it something I did or can it not work in this version?

Thanks again!

You need MediaMonkey 4: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... =4&t=61578

I am now working on an enhancement to my d_itunes plugin which will allow a MM instance running under Wineskin on a Mac to sync to the native Mac iTunes from which USB or wireless sync can be done.

Just wanted to add my thanks to markstuartwalker for his easy-to-use walkthrough.

Only problem I had was that my .m4a files weren't playing. So I tried installing Quicktime 7.6 through winetricks. This didn't work and just caused MM to crash.

So, I downloaded the latest Qt 7.7.1 installer (you can get it from filehippo). Installed that through "Install Windows Software" through the wineskin app into the same wrapper as MM (didn't check the "keep software updated" option in the Qt installer). And now I can listen to .m4a files in my wineskin version of MediaMonkey.

It's nice to finally have an alternative to iTunes on OS X :)

Help ! First of all many thanks for this - looks great.

However, I can't access my music, which is held on my NAS.

How do I map a drive ? I've tried searching above, and it mentions it on page 3. I've downloaded Wineskin Winery but I just get a box in the middle of my screen - no Drives options or anything.

Help please !!!!

Thanks

This is a feature of Wine. The NAS share should be mounted to the Mac. Wine is then configured to map the Mac mount point to a drive letter for MM.

October 19th ... it's brief but it is there ...

* If you wish MM to be able to see network shares that are mounted on your Mac launch Wineskin and select Advanced -> Tools -> Configure Utility. Use the Drives tab to map a drive letter to the folder path on the Mac.

@markstuartwalker

Thanks so much for the updated instructions, got MM running on my MBA Lion.

To all who are running MM on Mac with Wineskin. Has anyone tried to get any scripts working like Magic Nodes or a few of the most populare ones. Here is a list of scripts I've been looking at: http://mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5803

Thanks,

well... I'm not actually up and running... was to focussed on getting through the install steps and did not test... :-)

I added a small test folder of mp3's from my macbook Air desktop, no usb or network share. The media loaded and I see and am able to navigate the tree, all tags are seen, etc... But when I try to play a track the play button just flashes the pause icon then goes back to the defaul triangle play button, won't stay on the pause button because it is not actually getting into playing the track.

I have followed the most recent steps:

wineskin wrapper 2.5
Engine 1.3.24
MM 4.0.0.1459 (non-skinned)
MAD appears to be installed when going to Tools: Extensions: MAD 0.0.15.1 NOTE: however when trying to add the MAD I got errors about script not being able to run, I thought it was not installing, tried to load it multiple times with the same error. But when I went back into Tools: Extensions I was surprised to see that it in fact actually shows being loaded in the MM GUI.

It should work. The problems are definitely with the MAD plugin. It needs to be installed via the script - simple copying will not work. I suggest that you delete it's dll and attempt a re-install with it's MMIP installer. Pay attention to the reported errors .

I had a similar problem (script error, though MAD plugin showed up in extensions) and it was due to the ie6.exe not downloading properly when running the "ie6 corefonts vcrun6 vb6run" step from markstuartwalker's guide.

To fix this I had to download ie6.exe from markstuartwalker's provided link (http://www.mediafire.com/?treud0n7ebqt3) then place it in the ie6 folder in my cache folder (~/Library/Caches/winetricks/ie6). Hopefully this fix will work for your problem.

Should note that ie6.exe was placed in the winetricks cache folder before following the "ie6 corefonts vcrun6 vb6run" step. I think this step is required for scripting to work. Completing this step after making a flawed wineskin (with ie6.exe not downloaded) did not work for me.

(Also that was my post above - thought I was logged in but evidently not).

Thanks everyone.

What is the MMIP installer? I did not see this in the instructions I followed.

How and where are the dll's I need to delete?

Also, I do not recall seeing errors when I ran the "ie6 corefonts vcrun6 vb6run"when running the "ie6 corefonts vcrun6 vb6run" but I will pay closer attention this time.

Should downloading the ie6 step be added to the most recent updated install instructions?

Cheers,
