Smarter Crossfade (i.e., No Crossfade on Same Album)

Post by achmafooma »

Most of the time, I play my music randomized, and I have crossfade enabled. This is great.

Sometimes though, I'll listen to an album, and many of the albums I listen to have songs that run into one another (like, say, Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon). And I invariably forget to disable crossfade until after the first song transition. And then I invariably forget to turn it back on for a while. This is not great

I was thinking that it might make sense to tweak the crossfade behavior so that it automatically DOESN'T crossfade when going to the next track on the same album, even when crossfade is enabled. Or maybe even so it doesn't crossfade between tracks on the same album at all.

Of course, there should be a setting somewhere so people who really want (or really don't want) this behavior can change it.
