Stop Album Artist from autopopulating

I can't understand why Media Monkey would autopopulate "Album Artist" same as the Album when updating. Why not leave the field blank if the information is not available. I'm constantly erasing the field. Is there a way to turn off autopopulate of the "Album Artist" field.
