Drive mapping not seen by MM? (Beta 3)

Post by powerpill-pacman »

I have mapped my MP3 partition to drive Z on my grilfriend's PC. This was no problem with MM2.5. But when i tried to add the songs to MM3, there was no drive Z in the selection, so i had to add them via Network-Complete Network (is this the english name?).Microsoft Windows Network...
This wouldn't be a problem, if it wasn't for the location node, where you have to click through several nodes, before you reach the drive and the folders on it.
Does anyone have the same problem (couldn't find anything with the forum search) and is there a solution?

I found my drive map worked.. but I think that I found it wouldn't see it unless I opened it in my computer once first...

though I might be thinking of a different issue

Opening it first didn't do it for me.

Another problem with the network-drive seems to be that the tracks are added very slowly. I added them to MM2.5 some days before (with the mapped drive) and it was fast (about half an hour). With the network drive (not seen as mapped by MM3b3) it took three times the time.

Problem with mapped drive

Post by rusty »

powerpill-pacman,

Is there anything different about the mapped drive in question? I just tested this out and it seems to work fine on my machine.

Can you try mapping a drive to a folder and see if that exhibits the same problem?

It definitely works. I have had it setup for awhile on my girlfriends laptop. Make sure the drive is mapped properly, and try re-installing the latest beta.

So i finally managed to check the mapping ( imade a new one), but it still doesn't work for MM.
But this seems to be an error on my side, 'cause it seems to work for you guys, so i'll try to figure out what's wrong here.
