DLNA Experience

Does anyone know if it is possible to format the request URI to the MM4 DLNA server to begin playing a Playlist? The reason I ask is because I have a Pioneer VSX-1020 Receiver and while it is not DLNA complient, it does support Internet Radio. You just need to provide the proper URI format for the source. I am able to play individual MP3s from MM4 using the following format (example):

http://192.168.10.100:40831/151.mp3

I was also able to get a playlist to play on the receiver using my Twonky server. Here is the URI format required for Twonky (example):

http://192.168.10.101:9000/m3u/1$11$207905895.m3u

Is this possible in MM4?

Cool! Thank you for looking into this. Now to take it one step further would be to allow the client to connect mid-stream (while the playlist is playing) instead of starting at the begining (as it does when connecting to a playlist on Twonky). Then MediaMonkey becomes an Internet Radio server!

No, unfortunately, but if http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=7268 is added in MM than it would be able to be true Internet Radio.

Not sure if this is a router issue or a DLNA issue, but my 2Wire 2700 router is not letting me see my MediaMonkey DLNA server.

Thing is, the box I have the server on has a public static IP address whihc is not 192.168... based. I thnk it maybe a routing issue in the server.

However, if I knew what ports the MM DLNA server used I coudl try opening them on the firewall and try a round robin approach to see if it works. I'm actually keen to try this as I've got a DLNA player for my HTC Desire and would like complete access to my collection from my mobile

Any help would be appreciated.

I don't think DLNA is meant to work outside the network. The port used is in the Media Server configuration.

I'm serving to a DLNA-enabled Onkyo TX-NR 807. Flac files do not play (the Onkyo supports flac); MP3 files play fine. The display shows the file type as "PCM 0bps" and reports "cannot play." Another (much smaller) problem: no thumbnail display of cover art for any file type.

Neither Sony nor Samsung TV's show Album Art here (already reported) while they do for the TwonkyServer. MediaMonkey does show Album Art when accessing MediaMonkey Server.

I'll try a 2nd network card with a local IP address and see what happens then...

Shame as I have a DLNA app for my mobile and wuld like to access my entire collection on the road.

Now... A MediaMonkey app for Android with remote server access would be nice
