Double-clicking to resize columns [#3271]
Hi there, In every other application I have ever used, double-clicking the column divider resizes the column to the left of the column divider. In MM4 (well mine anyway) this is not the case - 99% of the time it resizes the column to the right. (Sometimes, totally randomly, it resizes the left column but this is very seldom.) Not only is this totally unexpected behaviour, it also means the first column cannot be resized by double-clicking. This happens on my standard and portable installs. Does anyone else experience this? Cheers.

Oh
!!! Silly me

Re: Double-clicking to resize columns
I suggest you create a debug log for the failure to resize: http://mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=341 and also see: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=3271
I've tried a few times and all columns including the first column resize as expected. The problem I'm seeing is that it also sorts when doing this when it shouldn't. This seems to be covered here: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view. ... 1307#c9596

Thanks Lowlander, Both of those bug links are the same behaviours I'm seeing.Lowlander wrote:I suggest you create a debug log for the failure to resize: http://mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=341 and also see: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=3271

I never knew about the double-click directly in the column header. Awesome!! It behaves as expected and resizes the left column. But, yes, it does sort as well which it definitely shouldn't.
I've done a bug report for the double-click column divider. I hope this is the right link: http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/inde ... entid=3504.
My columns, reading from the left: Title, Artist, Album, AlbumArtist, etc. For the bug report I double-clicked the column divider between Artist and Album - it was the Album column that resized.
Re: Double-clicking to resize columns [#3271]
Sorry, I didn't read your initial post correctly. I missed that you clicked on the divider. It seems to work the same as on the column header itself here, save the sorting that shouldn't happen. Both are extremely slow to react here when a large list is shown (10,000 tracks).

Re: Double-clicking to resize columns [#3271]
The first bug report link you posted was about the column divider, too. I'm sure that's what was meant by the Description "double clicking inbetween header columns". Yes mine is also "extremely slow to react" with a large list.Lowlander wrote:Sorry, I didn't read your initial post correctly. I missed that you clicked on the divider. But I've tried double-clicking column dividers in a portable install with scripts installed, a standard version with scripts installed and a clean portable version with no scripts installed (except code pack) and it is still the same behaviour.
Do you consistently have it resizing the correct column? As I said in the initial post, it can randomly resize the correct column - mostly when I first startup MM but even if it resizes correctly the first two or three times, it will always revert to incorrect resizing.
Re: Double-clicking to resize columns [#3271]
I've tried a few times and it worked. In the end it's not something I use so it might be harder for me to encounter.

Well I guess there isn't much more I can do. Maybe someone else with the same problem might be able to suggest a cause. Thanks for taking the time to try and help Lowlander.
