Opening MediaMonkey.chm
Hi there, I'm using MM4 4136 but I don't in which version it changed. Why doesn't the MediaMonkey.chm file open when going to Help / Help Content? Now it opens the MediaMonkey WebHelp wiki instead. Is there any way to make MM open the chm file instead? Cheers.

The .chm file is deprecated. MM help will all be online now.kiwichick wrote:Hi there, I'm using MM4 4136 but I don't in which version it changed. Re: Opening MediaMonkey.chm
Thanks nohitter,
If the chm is deprecated why is it still included in the MM install? What's the point of that? And, sorry, but the online help is absolutely useless compared to the chm file when it comes to finding the required help. For example last night I wanted to find out what Files To Edit / Multiple Artist Albums was for. When I searched the online help for Multiple Artist Albums there were no results!!! (but it is very clearly available in the chm file). So then I searched the online help for Files To Edit but there were still no results. None of the contents available on the main page make it obvious where I should start looking. Not much 'help' at all.
And can you please answer the second part of my thread "Is there any way to make MM open the chm file instead?"
Thanks.

Re: Opening MediaMonkey.chm
Just make a desktop shorcut to the .chm file. Works like a champ on both my main XP system and my sacrificial W7 notebook.
To reduce Desktop clutter I then move the shortcut to JetToolbar by Jet Audio.
FWIW, I also hate being forced to use online help. Sometimes I'm not connected to the Internet when I need to look at the help. What I'll do is just save a local copy of the help as .mht files.
However, I'm going to remember to save a copy of the current .chm file "just in case".

Thanks BitPusher, I know I can do that but I would rather be able to access it from the within the program. And, as you say, when you're not actually connected to the internet you can't use help at all. No, not much 'help' at all.
