Hi,
I'm using MediaMonkey 2.5.4.978, the latest version.
When I search for something, eg. an artist, the result window shows the corresponding tracks. It is however not possible anymore to change the order of the results manually: You cannot move tracks up or down in this window. The same thing happens when you open a node, for example an artist or an album node.
You can however change the order of tracks when you open a playlist in the result window.
How to reproduce:
Open an artist node that has multiple tracks. Try to change the order of the tracks
Search for a specific set of tracks. Try to change the order of the tracks
Open a playlist. Try to change the order of the playlist
As far as I know, this could be done in previous builds. Is it correct to say that this is a bug ?
regards,
charlieMOGUL

This is not a bug, this is the behavior. You can use sort to sort the list (including search results) differently, but the order always is related to a column sort, not to user modifications. Manual playlists you can reorder as those indicate a play order.

Re: Cannot move tracks in the result window
I checked an old build, and it wasn't possible there either. Must be bad wiring in my brains (c;charlieMOGUL wrote: As far as I know, this could be done in previous builds. Is it correct to say that this is a bug ?
However, I must say that it appears more intuitive when you can always arrange the order of the tracks in the result window, regardless how your view (playlist, artist, search, etcetera) is created.

Moving files order only makes sense if it has a result. Moving files in playlists will result in a different playlist order. Moving in other views has no result except the displayed order is different. You sort which uses a logic, but user sorting misses all that. That doesn't mean that I believe that other users have requested this as a feature.

You can only manually move around the songs in "fixed" playlists and Now Playing. Y
You can sort every "view" but Now Playing.
It make sense if you think about it.
