It could probably happen if when you first installed MM and the UAC prompt came up you said "Allow" or "Yes" or whatever the option is.

To stop it happening click No when prompted for UAC. Post back if this doesn't work

Try this. I think it worked for me. Take a mp3 and right click and do open with. Choose Select Program and reselect Media Monkey. Then MM opened without the prompt. I have closed and opened it a bunch of times without getting the prompt.

All UAC issues should be fixed in next build.

Version 4.0.3.1469 prompts for UAC every time I start it. Running it as an administrator once doesn't resolve the issue. Clicking "No" when prompted doesn't resolve it either. vicpac's solution doesn't work.

Addendum: This only happens if I choose a language other than German.

Try downloading (from FileHippo) MediaMonkey 4.0.3.1466 Beta

Before 2/5/2012, after setup/installation, clicking on the start icon got me NOTHING. NADA.
Didn't matter what language (I tried English and German). Or running as Administrator.
Now at least the program starts, at least on my system (Win 7).

Confirm! Annoying UAC form still exist. It doesn't matter that you an admin or simple user and what a rights in folders. When you click NO button form didn't close.

With 4.0.3.1470 I have the same effects on my Win7 x64 PC. You can reproduce it by the following steps:

- Install MM in English as Admin and close it directly after installation
- Start MM again as normal user
- In MM options change language to German
- Close MM and start MM again as normal user
- Request for Admin rights window comes up
- Confirm this window with Admin Password
(This window comes up again and again as long as you start as normal user)
- Close MM and start MM as Admin
- In MM options change language to German as well
- Close MM and start MM again as normal user
- The window doesn't come up anymore
- Changing again to English as normal user, close MM, start MM as normal user will again show the window
- Also changing to English as Admin, close MM, start MM as normal user will hide again the window

So in a nutshell it seems to be that the options settings have to be the same for Admin and for normal users - at least for the language settings to avoid coming up the Window.

So even when you're not changing anything MM prompts you for elevation every start ?

Similar issue here with 4.0.3.1472.

Steps to replicate:

1. Uninstalled previous version and deleted folder \Program Files (x86)\MediaMonkey.
2. Installed MediaMonkey 4.0.3.1472 from an account with user privileges.
3. Started MediaMonkey for the first time from an account with user privileges -> UAC prompt.
4. Closed and restarted MediaMonkey -> no UAC prompt.
5. Changed language from English to German with "Re-associate File Types on startup" checked.
6. Closed and restarted MediaMonkey -> UAC prompt.
7. Changed language from German to English with "Re-associate File Types on startup" checked.
8. Closed and restarted MediaMonkey -> UAC prompt.

Steps 5 to 8 will occur ad infinitum.

Clicking "No" in the UAC prompt makes it reappear seven more times, then MediaMonkey is up and running and the previously made language change is in effect.

Deactivating "Re-associate File Types on startup" resolves the issue.

When language is changed, some registry values need to be updated (like auto-play texts need to be localized to newly selected language).
