Now Playing -> Right Click -> Get Info -> Wikipedia [#10857]

Post by progcode »

This always fails for me. Always goes to an inappropriate wikipedia URL, usually a non-English language one as well. Can anyone else confirm that this is happening for them as well.

Yep ... just tried this on the beta. Listening to Chris Isaak - Speak of the Devil, track 12 Lonely Nights. Right-Click->Info->Wikipedia brought up this page http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal:Huvudsida

Will post this in the beta forum

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. MM 4.0.6.1501. Both are English. I am in the USA. I am using Firefox 20.0.1. Not really sure how the browser could matter, given that MM would just be generating a URL, but mentioning it just in case.

Are you right clicking in the Now Playing list? Right clicking on the track in the Library viewer works fine. It fails when you do it in the Now Playing list on the right side of the window.

Yep, basically the same as you. English, FIreFox 20.x, yada yada yada

Rightclick on Now Playing is where the problem is showing up.
Just tried it on another box. A song by Blue Cheer off their "What Doesn't Kill You" album, called "Born Under a Bad Sign" got me the URL of http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strona_g%C5%82%C3%B3wna

RightClick the same Artist/Album/Song in the primary track listing (center pane details) gave me the URL of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Born_Under ... %28song%29

BIG difference

What field are you right clicking on? It matters as Artist should get you the Artists page, Title should get you the Songs page and Album should get you the Albums page.

I don't get any other results than the English Wikipedia pages in both Filelisting and Now Playing. Some matches aren't entirely accurate, but are based on the relevant tag (I got a movie page for one).

This happens, for me, specifically when i right click the Artist - Song. If i do same in album things work well.

And once again this is only in Now Playing

Do you mean the Summary field with Artist - Song or each of those fields independently?

Now playing, for me (and probably the default as I haven't changed this on either of my systems), as for columns visible

Now Playing Album Len...

My guess 'Now Playing' is what you mean by summary because as i said it shows 'Artist - Song Name'. It doesn't say summary but ...

I can reproduce on the Summary/Now Playing column, however you can use the other columns for the correct results: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=10857

Thanks for that. I will change MMW so it will work correctly until a fix comes through. I like the default of one column for the information.

Thanks again for posting the mantis
