Artwork forum has been a bit slow lately...

Post by nohitter151 »

So I thought I'd throw this out there-- I'm working on my first skin. I have never done any skinning or coding or anything of the sort before, so its been a long, hard, learning process. I'd say its at about 60-70% completion right now.

I'm hoping it will be done in two weeks, I could have it done sooner, but I've got a couple of exams in the upcoming week.

Anyone else working on a skin?

Excellent!! Good to have more skinners.

I guess I have been letting my guard down as a skinner a bit so I am semi-working on a skin.
That basically means that I have made about 5% of a skin and will not be continuously working on it. So, don't expect it to come out any time soon.

Good work nohitter151!!

I totally agree, the artwork forum has been pretty dead lately. I started to work on a skin a time ago but it has not yet been coded and skinned. But I think some of you will like it. The only problem now is to get someone to skin it for me.

The skin takes inspiration from iTunes but not copying. That's because iTunes have one of the best user friendly interfaces, and that together with MediaMonkeys competense is a deadly striking weapon.

I have tried to not show it for people but since this forum is so inactive I give you a shot of the current status of the skin.

good going nohitter!

Agge, that looks REALLY nice...

but it's doing alot of things that, as far as I know, aren't possible.

for instance:

- it's not possible to put the player up the top like that... - it can be up the top, but it always has top be below the top toolbar, which, because the file menu toolbar can't be hidden, is always present.

- I don't think it's possible to have a toolbar at the bottom like that

- it's not possible to seperate the shuffle and loop buttons from the player skin unless you make a script which adds that functionality to a toolbar.

some of these I might be wrong about, so don't give up, but I'm pretty sure..

other then those things... it's an AWESOME skin and would be my first pick!
I really like the fine bevel detail, the lines & colours within the tracklist, the thinness of the framework... everything's pretty much perfect.

hope someone helps you with it!

Love it agge, that is really nice.

Dale is right when he says those things about skinning. But you can do what Morten did and contact the developers and get them to (hopefully) implement these feature into the monkey.

If the skin you are making is released then I would definitely use it!!

Toolbars are going to get customizable. Like FireFox, but better. This will not come in the 3.0-release surely.

For those of you who are not coders - only skinners. Look at this thread;

Blake and DaledeSilva: I know these things and have talked to the dev team. They will hopefully just as Morten said, implement some of these things after 3.0 is released.

Glad you like it guys. I tried to put some effort in designing it.

A bit of a teaser of what I'm working on... I still have the float player left to skin.

... you can probably guess my theme from the screenshot.. :D
