MM4 Question/Suggestion

Is it possible to condense the File/Edit/View/Play/Tools/Help menu into one small button/menu, or alternatively, to only have it appear when 'Alt' is pressed? (Similar to the way Firefox handles this problem.) I feel the default layout is a waste of screen real estate.

There does seem to be a strange pink bar that appears when I hit Alt and then Escape.
