Hi guys,
I've been trying to use a shared database with MM3 as I do sucessfully with MM2. However, despite adding the relevant extra line to the ini file and putting the MM.DB file in a shared location with the right persmissions etc, MM3 doesn't like it. It keeps recreating a new MM.DB in my AppData.
I am on Vista Home Premium.
I also note that the vid4wa plugin won't work properly either. It makes MM crash when it closes.

I run MM3 on a shared DB, I have the DB on my main desktop along with ALL my media. I have another desktop and 2 laptops that can access the DB and media with no problems.
ALL pcs are running windows vista premium, though I will be upgrading my main pc to ultimate.
Just double check the file path in the ini file and make sure your pcs can access the file. Don't know why but vista networking is different than xp, well for me it is.
My file path in the ini:
dbname=\\jr-main\media\mmdata\mm.db

One suggestion to check. My apologees if you have already done this. This one got me on my XP install when I wanted to set up a shared DB install:
Not only do you need to have the permissions set correctly for the MM.DB file, you also need the permissions set for the medicamonkey.ini file.
I had set this up for MM 2.5, but when installing and setting up MM3 in a separate folder I forgot all about that. It gave me fits for a while, it just would not work, and kept making a new DB.
