I'm running 3.1.0.1224 and tried to install Lyricator numerous times. It just won't work. I've used the installer (isntallation error). I copied the files to the folders myself and created the needed entry in scripts.ini. Nothing worked. After installation i found the entry in my extensions. I tried deinstalling and got the message, that deinstallation is not possible because i don't have the rights or access to the file. But: The entry was gone afterwards. I know that this has been an issue before.
Oh and btw, UAC is disabled, so there shouldn't be a problem installing the mmips.

Re: Script installation on Vista
Works fine for me with UAC disabled. Have you tried running MM as admin just for the heck of it to see if installing extensions works then?

It doesn't work. Neither does it work with an administrator's account. I really cannot figure out why.

Is it possible that it has something to do with Vista's Virtual Store folder?

Re: Script installation on Vista [#3702]
I had this problem as well but solved it by doing three things. First, shut off UAC (which I know you said you've done, and btw, from what I read, it's not a good idea to leave it that way), secondly, uninstall MM with a program such as Revo Uninstaller. It will go through the registry after uninstallation and show you every reference leftover by the uninstallation process and give you the option to delete them (which I did). There are nearly a 150 or so.
Warning! This will remove your key, your skins, your preferences, everything!
And lastly, reinstalling MM by running the install as administrator (still with UAC shut off). From there I was able to install skins and scripts as they normally should.
Don't know if any of this helps, I just know it worked for me.

Re: Script installation on Vista [#3702]
I found another way to get this working: install MM onto another Drive (not on c:). vista seems to protect the c:\program files\ folder in some special way.
Re: Script installation on Vista [#3702]
for me the using not the default program files folder but another is the only way, how MM will work without problems.
feature request:
when installing: detect the Windows version
if Windows is Vista: suggest another folder, give the user a hint.
installing MM into another folder means:
- I can install plugins without problems
- no need to start as administrator (even this sometimes doesn't help to install a plugin)
