I'm using Lyrics and Comment viewer, a very fine script just for Lyrics. It's way smaller than Monkey Rok, which was too big for me, had too much functions... :D

Is there a clue in the log? (Files reside on w:\mp3\src\<AlbumArtist>\<Album> which is a local partition on Drive0.)

No library tracks to process
You are selecting tracks from "My Computer" node. You have to select tracks from a Library Node, e.g. Location.

Oh gosh darn it, shinola. I'm processing files locally before moving to a network share (library)(where adding lyrics, artwork, etc. takes longer and is subject to occasional WiFi burps). Oh, I'll bet that even those I haven't "imported into library" are still listed under Album or other nodes. You're saying run it from those? TIA.

No you have to "import to library" before you can use any of the Library sub-nodes.
I add to library on rip to my local drive, do any tag cleanup, and then use manual auto-organize to move the tagged tracks to their final location, eg. your network drive.

That would not fit well with the basic Lyricator function. It would be best done in a separate script.
Will take a look into it.

What might be interesting is a simple way to write out the lyrics field to a flat file, then re-import it. Easy enough to do for one song (copy 'n paste into editor, then copy 'n paste back into ID3 tag), but doing it for an album of songs, with "don't edit me" style tags for the import file, allowing users to adjust things globally in PFE32, vi, emacs -- or insert lyrics that weren't found -- then reimport them (overwriting the ID3 tags with the imported file). This would allow the user to populate the Lyrics field with transcribed lyrics all in one action (after editing the import file).

Trick would be in matching the import file to the library selection. Select library track, and if the import file doesn't match, then no execution. But things like title, artist, (anything else), should be unchanged, and so should be simple to match up(?).

Rough example of user-editable import file:

Code: Select all

[Lyricator import file]
[title=Drowning%20in%20the%20Sea%20of%20Love&artist=Joe%20Simon]
[edit below here]
I've been down one time
And I've been down two times
But now I'm drownin'
Drownin' in the sea of love

Let me tell ya all about it
etc.
[edit above here]
[title=Glad%20to%20Be%20Your%20Lover&artist=Joe%20Simon] [!-- example of an empty lyric tag--]
[edit below here]
[edit above here]
[title=Something%20You%20Can%20Do%20Today&artist=Joe%20Simon]
[edit below here]
[edit above here]
...
[endoffile]
Just making a suggestion, feel free to appropriate or discard at your discretion. This would be a powerful companion script ... for some albums, the found lyrics do not match in format (e.g. lots of jazz songs), so the ability to quickly correct a whole 2-disc set's worth of lyrics with one file could be quite useful.

Hello,

thank you very, very much for this useful plugin!!!
Now I updated to the version 1.01.0.021 and used this last week with success.

Since today the plugin reports only the website address http://www.lyricsvip.com instead of the text of the lyrics.

Is this typical for lyricator or due to changes on the website of lyricsvip?

Best regards

Canoa

I'm seeing the same thing. Presumably, LyricsPlugin has changed something that breaks this script.
