Might not be "ie6 corefonts vcrun6 vb6run" command at fault then. You only need to download ie6.exe if you get an error while running this command (see MikeTradr's posts on page 4 of this thread). For some reason I got this error and it prevented me from installing the MAD plugin properly.

To delete the previous MAD plugin dll, you'll need to browse the wineskin wrapper you've created. Select "Show package contents" from the context menu on your MediaMonkey wrapper, then drive_c/users/your_username/Application Data/MediaMonkey/Plugins and delete in_mad.dll from this folder and any other MAD plugin/ini files. Or you might have it in drive_c/Program Files/MediaMonkey/Plugins if you haven't installed it via the script.

Then follow the last step in the build instructions (which is what I used to create my MM wineskin) found on page 5 of this thread :
* Use Tools->Extensions. Click "Add" and browse to the MAD plugin (inmad.mmip) which can be downloaded from http://www.mediamonkey.com/addons/brows ... ut-plugin/ . Close and then restart MM.

Hi,

first of all thanks to markstuartwalker for guiding me through the steps of creating a Wineskin application. I had VmWare Vusion before and it was much slower and it had sound problems most of the time. MediaMonkey 4.0.1 runs fine, but after installing the Last.FM scrobbler plugin (version 1.0.2.29 also 1.0.2.26) I get an OLE error 8007000E during startup, the "Last.FM" entry in the options menu is missing and it doesn't seem to scrobble. Regardless of the OLE error, the rest of MediaMonkey seems to run fine.

Does anyone has similar issues with the Last.FM plugin or better, resolved them?

Greetings from Germany,

Thorsten.

any reason why skins don't display properly? I'm able to install them, but when applying, only the icons change. Everything else stays the same

Does your saying " Note 1:USB devices will not be seen by MM." mean I can not use Media Monkey on my Macbook AND Sync songs from my Macbook via MM to my iPhone?

does anybody know if this is still in development? I know there is a new version of MM out now and it would be great if this could be re-packaged. Also, does anybody know if extensions are working properly? I too am having trouble with the skins.

Once you have the package installed then you can upgrade to later MM releases. Unfortunately the USB limitations and extensions stability are likely to remain until Wine improves.

My intention is to allow an export to the native Mac iTunes and the USB or wireless sync to an iDevice will be possible.

Unfortunately, that is exactly what it means.

First off let me just thank you for all the work on this. MediaMonkey seems to be the only solution to handling my massive library. I was wondering if anybody has had any luck with MonkeyFlow? It's a little challenging because the addon is an exe file. I just thought it would add some nice graphics

Is it possible to use a remote database?

I.e. I have a network drive mounted, and the db file is at /Volumes/mediamonkey/db/MM.DB. I have Wine configured with /Volumes/mediamonkey as E:, this works (content shows up in MediaMonkey). I have added "DBName=F:\db\MM.DB" to MediaMonkey.ini. Now when I start MediaMonkey I get: "Library file F:\db\MM.DB can't be opened, would you like to create a new local Library?" (My guess is that this has something to do with file permissions.)

In my post above, it should of course say that "/Volumes/mediamonkey" is mounted as F: (not as E:).

I suspect that it is. I have tried to do this and I have never managed to get to the bottom of it. MM only seems able to open DB files if they are on the local C: disk. It can index music on external drives fine but the DB file has to be on the local disk.

My workaround was to launch MM through a batch file and copy the remote file to local disk before running MM. I then copy the modified DB file back to the remote location afterwards. Very clunky and I'm not happy with it but at least it works.

Do you have an example of such a script?
